GIST Supervisor Level 1

Attendees

This course is aimed at those who are responsible for the supervision, direction and instruction of scaffolding operations e.g. Chargehands, Foreman, Lead Hand, Ganger, Supervisors

This programme will provide the candidate with the knowledge and skills to enable them to liaise with the client and other trades, supervise, monitor and direct scaffolders during scaffolding operations. They will understand international statutory requirements and industry best practice.

Progression

Candidates holding the GIST Supervisor Level 1 card must complete more than 2 years onsite experience before progressing to GIST Supervisors level 2 training and assessment.

Course Content

• International and Local Statutory regulations and best practice regarding health safety, welfare and environment
• Supervision of occupational health
• Behavioural safety.
• Effective Communication
• Overview Manual Handling
• Overview Fall prevention/Fall Protection
• Case Study Project (Includes RAMS)
• Scaffold Supervisor Knowledge/Behaviours Test (50 questions 80% to pass)
• Both elements must be completed satisfactorily for the candidate to pass the course.
