This programme will provide the candidate with the knowledge and skills necessary for them to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding structures of an advanced complexity to internationally recognised standards.

The GIST Advanced Scaffolder card will last for 3 years. Cards are renewable upon successful completion of the 2-day Advanced refresher programme.

• Safe use of a Safety Harness
• Safe access/egress methods
• Interpretation of complex drawings/complex design appreciation
• Risk Assessment and Method Statements
• Truss out Scaffold
• Cantilever Drop Scaffold
• Temporary Roof/Building
• Suspended scaffold
• Shoring
• Complex Design Lifting Frame with Block and Beams
• Produce RA/MS for one of the course structures
• Produce Materials list for the skills test
• Skills Test
• Knowledge/Behaviours Test (80% to pass)
• All elements must be completed satisfactorily for the candidate to pass the course.
